The rain and mud did not stop the Adams Girls Cross Country team from running in the Culver Invitational on Saturday morning. Running along the shores of scenic Lake Maxinkukee, the Lady Eagle braced through the tough racing conditions that plagued the course due to the weather.
Running in the Open Division (Large Schools), Adams finished in 22nd place with a team score of 634. The race featured some of the top teams from around the states of Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio.
Maddie Mischak was the first for Adams to finish the race, crossing the line in 22:56. Mischak finished overall 94th in the very competitive race. Finishing next for Adams was Ivie Skube who ran a time of 23:24.
Mishcak and Skube were joined in the race by Addison Skube (25:10), Claire Stowe (25:51), Delaney Packard (26:05), Hannah Connell (26:14), and Betsy Leija Castenada (27:11).
There meet featured a Reserve Race as well. Four runners for Adams ran and braved the course that was almost pure mud in placed by the time the race was run. This race was not scored as a team. Rajiya Weaver was the first for Adams in the race in 30:54 followed by Deireann O’Brien (31:28), Jacquelin Seguno (31:33), and Italia Ramos (33:39).

The regular season comes to an end with this race as the team will be running next Saturday in the Northern Indiana Conference Championship Meet at Oxbow Park.
