A summer and fall full of long runs and training were all about to pay off for the Boys Cross Country team on Saturday afternoon at Erskine Park Golf Course. The Eagles were running in the IHSAA Sectional Meet on what turned out to be an almost perfect day for running such an important race.
The goal for the Eagles as well as all teams was to finish in the top 5 as a team in order to survive and advance to next week’s Regional Meet.
The Eagles did just that, the team finished 4th overall with a score of 105.
It was Will Neubauer who ran a spectacular race and would finish as the first Adams runner in the race. Neubauer ran at or near the front of the pack for nearly the entire race.As he approached the treacherous final stretch on the hilly and challenging course, Neubauar secured a 4th place finish overall with a time of 17:08.
Also running an equally impressive race was Sami Mirza. Mirza finished in 13th place in the very competitive race, running a time of 17:33.
Ngor Agwick also finished All Sectional in the top 20, running a time of 18:12 which was good for 19th place.
