The Girls Basketball team opened up Northern Indiana Conference play on Friday night, hosting the John Glenn Lady Falcons inside Hadaway’s Shack. It was the first NIC game for both teams, and each team was also 1-1 entering the night.
The Falcons got out to a quick start, and throughout the first quarter, the Lady Eagles had to play catch up. A big second quarter by Laila Williams brought the Eagles back to within three points at the half. Couple with Williams’ six points, the Adams defense came together to stop the Glenn attack to the rim.
The game remained close throughout the third quarter but fell behind in the fourth once the Falcons got hot and could not miss a basket.
Adams lost in the NIC opener to Glenn with a score of 33-53.
Williams was the leading scorer for the team, finishing the night with 12 points.
