Girls Varsity Swimming · Girls Swimming and Diving Suffers First Loss of Season

For the Girls Swimming and Diving team, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving was a rough evening. The Lady Eagles, who had been starting off the season on a strong note, suffered its first loss of the year, falling to crosstown rival SB Riley 102-81.

Despite the loss, there were some highlights for the team. Adams claimed victories in four events. 

The Adams Divers took first, second, and third place in the event. Lindsay Gizzi won with a score of 264.9. Katie Hensell finished in second with 193.95 and Avery Curtis in third with a score of 138.30.

Lyza Kircheff won the 100 Fly in a time of 1:05.07. Sofia Frazee won the 100 Breaststroke in 1:12.47. Both Frazee and Kircheff were members of the winning 200 Freestyle Relay along with Lindsay Collins and Yvette Burton. The team won with a time of 1:51.04.

Frazee, Burton, and Collins also finished second, third, and fourth as individuals in the 50 Freestyle. Frazee missed out on the victory by just .04 seconds.

Eamin Lynch finished third in the 200 Individual Medley and in the 100 Backstroke as well.. Kircheff finished second in the 100 Backstroke. Cecelia Frazee finished third in the 100 Freestyle and Elisa Nerenberg finished third in the 500 Freestyle.

The 200 Medley Relay finished as runner up in a time of 1:12.30 and the 400 Freestyle Relay finished third in 4:25.

Adams now has a record of 2-1 for the season and 1-1 in the Northern Indiana Conference. The Eagles will have some time to make adjustments before they will swim again in a week on December 3 at Bremen.
