The John Adams Boys Basketball team began action in the Northern Indiana Conference on Tuesday night inside of historic North Side Gym. The Eagles took on the Elkhart Central Blazers in their third game of the season.
Adams pulled away early from Elkhart Central, outscoring the Blazers by 10 points in the opening quarter of play. The Eagles would never allow Elkhart to bring their way back into the game. Adams would cruise to victory, winning 62-49.
Seven Adams players contributed to the win and it was Quentez Columbus who would be the leading scorer for the team. Columbus scored 14 points and was a perfect 2 for 2 from the free throw line.
Lynn King and Chuck Worsham also has a good night offensively. King scored 12 points and Wosham 11 points. Sydney Jefferies added another 7 points, Braydon Saxton 4 points, and TeVaughn Columbus 2 points.
Tuesday night’s game was the final NIC meeting between the Eagles and Blazers as Elkhart Central merged to become a unified Elkhart next year.
The team starts the season an impressive 3-0 overall and open up play in the NIC 1-0. John Adams will play again on Friday night. The Eagles will host the Mishawaka Marian Knights.
