The site was historic North Side Gym and the opponent Elkhart Central for the Adams Girls Basketball team on Tuesday night. It was the final meeting between the Lady Eagles and the Blazers as Northern Indiana Conference opponents.
The two teams struggled to get things going in the opening quarter of play. At that point, Adams was only trailing by a point with the score being 7-6. The Blazer offense however began to roll in the second quarter pulling away with a 33-17 lead at intermission. Adams was never able to recover from that deficit and would eventually lose the game 78-26.
Daquejiha Vaughn led the Lady Eagles in scoring with a total of 10 points. Six of Vaughn’s points were off of free throws where she went 6 for 7. Loryn Higginbotham scored 8 points, and half of those were from free throws where she was 100% from the line.
Marissa Shelton scored 4 points, Myah Allen scored 2 points, and Anna Fuller and Laila Williams each made a free throw scoring 1 point each.
The Eagles will play again on Thursday night when they host the Mishawaka Marian Knights.
