The Adams Girls Swimming and Diving team has had quite a bit of success early on in the season, and Tuesday night was no different for the Lady Eagles when they hosted the Mishawaka Marian Knights in a Northern Indiana Conference meet. Adams soundly defeated Marian with a score of 139-34.
In their win, Adams won 11 of the 12 events contested in the pool.
To start the night off, Adams finished 1-2 in the 200 Medley Relay. Lyza Kircheff, Elizabeth Tarner, Addison Skube, and Cecilia Frazee won the event in a time of 2:11.06. Eamin Lynch, Ivie Skube, Skye Peck, and Yvette Burton finished in second.
Lynch came back to win the very next event as well, the 200 Free. Lynch won in 2:19.44. Melany Morales Garibay and Isabelle Robichaud finished second and third.
Sofia Frazee was the champion of the 200 Individual Medley, winning by nearly half a minute in a time of 2:32.24. Burton was the second place finisher.
Adams dominated in the 50 Free, finishing 1-2-3. C Frazee was the winner in 28.70, Anna Tarner in second in 29.52, and Grace Collins in third in 35.41.
The Lady Eagles also went 1-2-3 in Diving as they have much of the season. Lindsay Gizzi won with a score of 258.98. Katie Hensell scored 221.05 for her second place finish and Avery Curtis was third with 132.80.
Ivie Skube won the 100 Fly, swimming to the win in 1:14.51. Tarner was second in 1:19.34.
The 100 Free was another 1-2-3 combo for the Eagles well. Morales Garibay swam 1:03.59 for the win, Olivia Thompson was second in 1:05.04, and A Skube swam 1:05.87 which was good for third.
Two relays for Adams took the top two spots in the 200 Free Relay. C Frazee, S Frazee, G Collins and Lindsay Collins finished first in 1:32.52 and I Skube, A Sube, E Tarner, and Anna Arner finished in second in 1:57.98.
In the final two individual events the Eagles scored well. Kircheff won the 100 Backstroke in 1:07.12. Peck finished in 3rd and MaryCate Baer in 4th. Lynch won yet another individual event in the 100 Breaststroke. Her winning time was 1:19.27. A Tarner was third and Liora Wulfsohn was 4th.
To wrap the evening up the Eagles took first and second in the 400 Free Relay. Thompson, Baer, I Skube, and S Frazee were the winners in 4:30.56. Sade Williams, Morales Garibay, Peck, and Roubichaud finished second.
The only event the Eagles did not win was the 500 Free, but the team still did extremely well, taking second third and fourth place. Tania Gonzalez was second, C Frazee third, and Peck fourth.
Adams will swim again on Thursday at home when they host New Prairie.
