It was an in town rivalry match for the first Adams Wrestling contest of the season on Thursday night. The Eagles hosted the SB Clay Colonials in a Northern Indiana Conference matchup. The two teams were fairly evenly matched which made for an exciting evening. The Colonials prevailed however over the Eagles, winning with a final score of 42-36.
Winning for Adams by forfeit were Ashlyn Wiggins wrestling at 106 pounds and Aidan McQueen at 126 pounds.
Four Adams wrestlers won outright, pinning their Colonial opponents.
Melvin Torres at 152 pounds, Horace Hill at 220 pounds and Joe Phillips at 285 pounds all won within the first period of action. Darien Stineman also won for Adams wrestling at 160 pounds, getting the fall early on in the second period of action.
Adams will compete in the packed field in the Northridge Super Dual on Saturday morning at Northridge HS
