The Adams Wrestling team competed on Saturday in the highly competitive Northridge SUper Dual. THe Eagles took on five tough teams throughout the day.
Unfortunately however Adams finished with a team record of 0-5 for the day. Adams lost to Ft Wayne Snider in the opening round 59-24. In Round 2 Adams lost to Homestead 51-21. The Eagles lost to NorthWood 63-12 in the third round. In Round 4 Adams was defeated by Warsaw 51-24. Round 5 was the closest round of the day. Adams battled it out with Concord to the near end, eventually falling with a score of 42-40.
Joe Phillips had a strong day individually, Phillips was undefeated in all five of his matches for the day wrestling at 285 pounds.
Horace Hill also had a decent day, losing only one match and finishing the day 4-1 at 220 pounds.
Ashlyn Wiggins (113) was 2-3, Andrew Hernandez (120) was 1-4, Jacob Harsch (132) was 1-4, Ryan Downey (138) finished 2-3, Josh Velazquez (145) went 0-5, Melvin Torres (152) finished 0-5, Dareion Stineman (160) went 1-4, Ian Donihue (182) finished 1-1, Chykeem Crawford (182) finished 2-1, and Camden Hanks (195) went 2-3.
The Eagles have some time off before they compete again just after Christmas in the Annual Al Smith Invitational at Mishawaka HS on December 27 & 28.
