After a tough start to the month of December, the Adams Girls Basketball team finally got a win on the road on Friday night.The Lady Eagles defeated Northern Indiana Conference opponent Jimtown with score of 53-33, opening up the winter break with a positive note.
It was a game that was controlled from start to finish by Adams. Adams outpaced Jimtown by getting out to a commanding lead of 14-3 at the end of the first quarter of play. Adams kept that lead throughout the game and again in the third quarter had another hot 8 minutes of play. Adams outscored the Jimmies 17-6 in the third quarter on their way to the victory.
Daquejiah Vaughn and Laila Williams led the way for Adams in the big road win. Vaughn scored 13 points and Williams 12 points in the win. Both Vaughn and Williams hit a three point shot.
Loryn Higginbotham scored 10 points, Myah Allen scored 6 points, McKenna Leichty and Samaya Sigur each had 5 points, and Valiyah Grundy had 2 points. Leichty was 3 for four on free throws and Allen was 4 for 6.
As the Lady Eagles build momentum, the team looks to take that into the Tipton Tournament next weekend. Adams will open up play on Friday against Jennings County.
