On Wednesday afternoon, John Adams Senior Student Athlete Ira Armstead signed his National Letter of Intent to continue his educational and football career at The University of Virginia.
Ira signs with the Cavaliers after an impressive career as the Quarterback of the Eagles Football team. At Virginia, Ira plans to pursue a degree in the Business field.
Armstead was joined at the signing by several members of this family, including his mother, father, and little brothers. Also joining him in their support were his high school coaches and many members of the John Adams Football team.
Ira chose the Cavaliers because the school and team would be a perfect fit for him in both academics and athletics.
While at Adams, Ira’s favorite moments would without a doubt be all of the Friday Night Lights games with his teammates on the field.
At Adams, Armstead was named a Prime Time Top 25 Players and for the past two seasons was named First Team All Northern Indiana Conference playing Quarterback. Ira is also an honor roll student at Adams.
Ira will be graduating early and will be enrolling at the University of Virginia next semester.
Congratulations Ira and best of luck in the future!
