Girls Varsity Basketball · Girls Basketball Falls in First Game of Holiday Tournament


For the Girls Basketball team, the days after the holiday was spent at the Tipton Lady Devils Holiday Tournament. Adams took on Jennings County in the first game of the tournament on Friday morning.

Adams and Jennings County battled hard for the lead in the game. The Lady Eagles were trailing at half but still within reach of the game until Jennings County got hot and hit 8 three pointers in the second half. Adams would fall in the opener to Jennings County 47-62.

Laila Williams was the leading scorer for Adams in the game. Williams scored 14 points and was a perfect 4 for 4 on free throws. 

Loryn Higginbotham scored 9 points in the game and was 3 for 5 from the line.

Marissa Shelton and Samaya Sigur each scored 6 points, Whitney Marshall and Myah Allen both scored 5 points each, and DeQuejiha Vaughn scored 2 points.

The Lady Eagles will take on Tri Central on Friday afternoon to determine pool standings.
