The Boys Basketball team traveled to take on a crosstown opponent on Tuesday night in Northern Indiana Conference play to kick off the second half of the regular season. After suffering its first loss in the championship game of the Kokomo Holiday Tournament, the Eagles were looking to bounce back against SB Clay.
During the first half, the Colonials and Eagles were playing close to each other. Both Clay and Adams were tied going into the locker room at the half 33-33. Adams made the necessary adjustments after getting the ball in the second half. The Eagles began to pull away, outpacing the Colonials leading to the Adams 66-60 win over SB Clay.
Quentez Columbus and Brayden Saxton connected with each other to lead the Eagles in scoring. Columbus scored 17 points after hitting three 3 point shots in the game. Saxton scored an equally important 16 points.
Jessie Morgan, who went 4 for 4 from the free throw line score 12 points for Adams. Chuck Worsham scored 10 points, Sydney Jefferies had 8 points, and Kyrin McClatchey scored 3 points.
Adams improved to 10-1 overall for the season and leads the NIC with a perfect 4-0 record. The Eagles will play again on Friday night with they host the Penn Kingsmen.
