Girls Varsity Basketball · Girls Basketball Plays Aggressive in Loss to Penn

Fresh off an exciting overtime victory on Tuesday night, the Girls Basketball team looked to keep that momentum going on Thursday night as the team hosted Penn HS.

Playing some of their best defensive and aggressive ball of the season, the Lady Eagles immediately put pressure on Penn, not letting them have their way and control of the court. Adams, with plenty of energy, kept the game tight through the first part of the game. Unfortunately, Penn got hot on the three point shot, hitting 10 shots, putting the game out of reach as it neared its conclusion. Adams ultimately lost 33-62.

Loryn Higginbotham led the Eagles in scoring with 16 points. Higginbotham also made 6 of her 9 free throw attempts.

Daquejiha Voughn scored 7 points and hit one three point shot. Marissa Shelton scored her 6 total points on two threes. Laila Williams scored 4 points and was a perfect 2 for 2 from the free throw line.

Adams will play again next Friday when they play their final home game and celebrate Senior Night against SB Washington.
