The lead in the Northern Indiana Conference was on the line Friday night as the Boys Basketball team hosted the Penn Kingsmen. The critical game, would determine who would remain at the top of the conference with at least a share of the lead.
Adams was not about to let Penn dictate the pace of play of the game. Looking to avenge the loss back in the Sectional Championship game last march, the Eagles took control of the game early on. Adams outscored Penn 45-27 as the teams went into the locker rooms at half. The second half was no different, as Adams held Penn to just 8 points in the third quarter then outran the Kingsmen to claim the 80-60 victory.
The leading scorer for Adams was Sydney Jefferies. Jefferies ended the night with 17 points and he was a perfect 4 for 4 from the free throw line.
Quentez Columbus also had an impressive night. Columbus scored 16 points and hit 2 three point shots. Both Chuck Worsham and Lynn King scored 13 points each. Worsham was also 2 for three on free throws and King was a perfect 4 for 4.
Brayden Saxton scored 9 points, Jessie Morgan scored 4 points and Matt Anella, Harry Jeffers, Gion Parks, and Kyrin McClatchey all had 2 points each.
The Adams defense was also on point as well as the team forced 15 turnovers.
The Eagles improve to 11-1 overall and a perfect 5-0 in the NIC.
