The Boys Swimming and Diving team took to the pool at the new Elkhart Health and Aquatics Center on Thursday night when they swam against Elkhart Central in Northern Indiana Conference action. The boys competed well but they were unable to take down the Blazers, losing with a score of 133-30.
Adams had one first place finish and that came from Brendan Quinn in the 200 Freestyle. Quinn’s winning time was 1:56.54. Quinn also finished as an individual runner up in the 500 Freestyle. His runner up time was 5:23.12. Quinn was also a member of two relays that took third place as well. The 200 Medley Relay of Quinn, Andrew Bowman, Alexander Macharaschwili and Fernando Sanchez finished third with a time of 2:24.57. Quinn was joined by Bowman, Tiras Baggett, and Miguel Sanchez Castaneda for the third place finish in the 400 Freestyle Relay. The team closed out the meet with a time of 5:14.72.
The Eagles also had finishers in several other events as well. Bowman was the runner up in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:13.14. Sanchez finished 4th in the 50 Freestyle, finishing in 33.30. Baggett finished in 5th in 38.33. In Diving, Adams finishing in 4th, 5th, and 6th place. Enzo Gizzi finished 4th in 148.45, Eric Derr took 5th with 136.00, and Micah Fourman was 6th with 127.35. Macharaschwili finished 4th in the 100 Free, swimming a time of 1:07.26. Sanchez Castaneda was 5th in 1:19.97, and swimming 1:28.20 was good for 6th for Sanchez. Finally, the 200 Freestyle Relay took 3rd place with a time of 2:39.68. The relay was made of Sanchez Castaneda, Macharaschwili, Baggett, and Sanchez.
Adams will swim again on Tuesday at home when they host Elkhart Memorial.
