With the regular season winding down, the Girls Basketball team took to the road on Saturday to take on the Munster Mustangs.
Both Adams and Munster were tied up as the first quarter came to an end at 15-15. The Mustang offense got rolling in the 2nd quarter and went on a run, taking a 37-25 lead into the half. As the teams worked to make adjustments in the second half, Adams was able to get things rolling in the fourth quarter. Marissa Shelton scored 18 of Adams’s 20 points in the final 8 minutes of play. It was not enough for Adams however as the Eagles would fall to Munster 62-54.
Shelton scored a total of 27 points in the game, with 18 of those coming in the fourth quarter. Shelton hit 3 three point shots and was 4 for 5 on free throws.
Myah Allen scored 9 points, McKenna Leichty scored 6 points, Loryn Higginbotham and Whitney Marshall each had 4 points, and Lazia Walker and Laila Williams scored 2 points each.
Adams has one final Northern Indiana Conference game when they play next on Tuesday at New Prairie HS.
