Girls Junior Varsity Basketball, Girls Varsity Basketball · Girls Basketball Closes out Conference Play with Win


The Girls Basketball team closed out 2019-2020 Northern Indiana Conference play on Tuesday night with a resounding win on the road against New Prairie. 

Playing at New Prairie in the penultimate game of the regular season, Adams trailed at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Eagles went on a run in the second quarter, scoring 23 points to take the lead into half time. It was all Adams from that point on as the Lady Eagles outshot and outperformed the Lady Cougars. Adams would eventually win with a final score of 76-59.

Loryn Higginbotham was the leading scorer for Adams and for the game as well. Higginbotham ended the night with 21 points, helping to lead the way and secure the victory in the second half.

Laila Williams had a big first quarter and fourth quarter, ending the night with 18 points. Marissa Shelton, impressive from three point range, hit 4 three point shots and scored 16 points in the game. McKenna Leichty scored 10 points, Whitney Marshall had 7 points, and Myah Allen scored 4 points.

The offense was not the only part of the game that was hot for Adams. The Eagles defense put the pressure on New Prairie and forced the Cougars to make 23 turnovers.

The Junior Varsity team also won 45-26 over New Prairie. Samaya Sigur was the leading scorer for Adams with 10 points.

The Eagles have one more regular season game on Saturday when they travel to play LaPorte in non conference play.
