The Boys Swimming and Diving team competed in their final dual meet of the season on Tuesday evening, taking on SB Riley in the Northern Indiana Conference matchup. Adams lost to the Wildcats on the road with a final score of 140-37.
Senior Brendan Quinn won two events for the Eagles, the 200 Freestyle and the 100 Backstroke. Quinn’s winning time in the 200 Free was 1:58.85, nearly 10 seconds ahead of the next finisher. In the 100 Backstroke, Quinn won by 4 seconds with a time of 1:00.77.
Quinn also swam in to relays as well. The 200 Free Relay and the 400 Free Relay.
In the 200 Free Relay, Quinn was joined by the three divers, who made their debut in the pool for swimming events. Quinn, Eric Derr, Micah Fourman, and Enzo Gizzi finished in 4th place with a time of 2:03.67. Andre Bowman, Fernando Sanchez, Alexander Macharaschwili, and Miguel Sanchez Castaneda finished 5th in the relay with a time of 2:07.71.
Besides swimming in the pool, Gizzi finished as the runner up in Diving. Gizzi scored 180.35. Derr finished in 3rd with a score of 145.85 and Fourman’s performance of 132.45 was good for 5th place.
Bowman finished in 4th place in the 50 Free in a time of 27.88. Sanchez was 5th in 36.98.
In the 100 Butterfly, Bowman took the 4th place spot, swimming a time of 1:21.41.
In the 100 Freestyle, Sanchez Castaneda swam a time of 1:08.14 which earned him the 4th place finish. Sanchez was 5ht in 1:24.81.
Sanchez Castaneda was also the 4th place finisher in the 100 Breaststroke as well. His time was 1:40.51. Macharaschwili finished in 5th place with a time of 1:46.05.
The 200 Medley Relay of Bowman, Macharaschwili, Sanchez, and Tiras Baggett finished in 4th place with a time of 3:05.91.
The 400 Free Relay also finished in 4th place to end the meet. Quinn, Baggett, Sanchez Castaneda, and Macharaschwili swam a time of 5:31.35.
The Eagles will swim again on Saturday when they compete in the 2020 NIC Championships.
