Girls Varsity Basketball · Girls Basketball Ends Regular Season with Loss

The Girls Basketball team closed out the regular season on Saturday night on the road at LaPorte in non conference action. The Lady Eagles, who will play LaPorte again on Tuesday in the opening round of the IHSAA Sectional, lost to LaPorte with a final score of 70-42.

The Slicer defense was too much for Adams to overcome as there were only four players from Adams who were able to score in the game. The Eagles stayed close through the first quarter, but as time went one, the team had to play catch up but were unable to bring it back.

Myah Allen was the leading scorer for Adams, scoring 12 points. Allen was a perfect 4 for 4 on her free throws as well. Marissa Shelton scored 11 points and was 2 for 2 on free throws. Loryn Higginbotham added 10 points for Adams. Whitey Marshall ended the night with 4 points.

Adams ends the regular season 6-16 overall and finished 4-8 in the Northern Indiana Conference. The Lady Eagles will play again on Tuesday night in the first round of the IHSAA Sectional at Michigan City. Adams will play LaPorte.
