The post season for Girls Basketball tipped off across the State on Tuesday night. The Adams Lady Eagles were in action, opening the first game of Michigan City Sectional. Adams took on LaPorte, a team the Lady Eagles lost to just three nights earlier to end the regular season.
It took Adams some time to get going, falling behind 15-4 at the end of the first quarter. The Eagles were energized coming out of the huddle to start the second half however. Adams began to dig their way out of the deficit that they were in. Adams outscored the Slicers 13-12 in the quarter, to bring the game back within 10 points at the half. The slicer defense was just too much to get past in the second half and LaPorte began to pull away, ending the game with a score of 63-37. With the loss, the season comes to an end for John Adams.
Marissa Shelton was the leading scorer for Adams. Shelton led the way with 18 points. Loryn Higginbotham scored 9 points, McKenna Leichty made 6 points, Laila Williams scored 5 points, and Lazia Walker, Myah Allen, and Samaya Sigur all ended the night with 2 points each.
The Lady Eagles end the season with a record of 6-17 overall and finished 4-8 in the Northern Indiana Conference.
