Boys Varsity Swimming · Boys Swimming Season Ends at IHSAA Sectional


The Boys Swimming and Diving team competed in the IHSAA Mishawaka Sectional Finals on Saturday on the quest of making it to the State Finals. The Eagles ended up finishing in 8th place as a team overall, scoring 73 points. In the Sectional, the top finisher in each event advances to the State Meet next weekend. Unfortunately, Adams did not advance any swimmer or diver out of the round, and the season has come to an end.

Brendan Quinn was the lone swimmer to swim in the finals of two events. Quinn swam his best time of the season in the finals of the 200 Freestyle, which earned him a 6th place finish in the event. Quinn finished in a time of 1:52.58. Quinn came back later in the 500 Freestyle, swimming a time of 5:14.49, which was good for 7th place.

Enzo Gizzi advanced to the finals for Diving. Gizzi dove his way through the semi finals and finals to finish in 7th place with a score of 282.90.

The Eagles also had two relays swim in the consolation finals as well on Saturday. Quinn was joined by Alexander Macharaschwili, Fernando Sanchez, and MiguelSanchez Castaneda in both the 200 Freestyle Relay and the 400 Freestyle Relay. The 200 Free Relay finished in 9th place in a time of 1:59.99, and the 400 Free Relay was 9th as well, finishing in 4:26.97.
