Boys Varsity Basketball · Boys Basketball Season Comes to End in Sectional Championship Game

For the fourth consecutive season, the Boys Basketball team advanced to the IHSAA Sectional Finals on Saturday night. This season, Adams would face off against Culver Military Academy in the LaPorte Sectional.

Saturday was a classic Indiana high school basketball game, with a packed gym of spectators, the two teams gutted it out in a thrilling contest that in the end, came down to the final seconds of play to determine the ultimate champion.

During the first half, Adams had plenty of opportunities and many shots, but the rims denied many of the shots that Adams had. The two teams battled it out for control of the game, and going into halftime, CMA led Adams 21-12. Adams was not out of the game by any means. Despite CMA still holding the lead throughout the third quarter, Adams began to surge, finding their groove in the game. It was in the fourth quarter where the game became a thriller. Adams worked back into the game from being down 12 and the offense got hot, scoring 20 points in the final minutes of play and outshooting CMA. With new energy on the court and lots of energy from the fans in the stands, Adams was within reach of securing the Sectional crown. With less than 30 seconds left to play in the game, Adams needed 3 to tie, and on the final drive, Adams was only able to get two points, and when the final horn sounded just seconds later, Adams lost to Culver Academy with a final score of 44-43.

Chuck Worsham and Quentez Columbus led Adams in scoring for the night. Both Worsham and Columbus scored 11 points each. Sydney Jefferies scored 10 points, Lynn King had 6 points, and Brayden Saxton scored 5 points.

Adams finishes the season 22-3, one of the best seasons in school history.

Congratulations on an outstanding and exciting season!
