Saturday marked the start of the Girls Track and Field season for John Adams. The Lady Eagles ran in the first of several qualifying meets in the Hoosier State Relays series at Trine University.
The meet was an unscored meet, and participants were trying to qualify to the Hoosier State Relays finals later in March based off of their performances. The top 24 track, long jump, and shot put and top 18 in high jump and pole vault will qualify for the unofficial indoor state meet. Adams competes in the large school division.
The most outstanding performance in the meet came from Alecia Parker in Shot Put. Parker broke her own school record in the event which she set just last season. Parker finished with a toss of 41’3”.
On the track, Adams had several performances from the young squad. Shanell Exum ran a 8.63 in the 60 M Dash. Abby Holmes also ran in the 60 Dash with a time of 9.19.
The 4×800 Relay consisting of Ivie Skube, Lexi Lawwill, Addison Skube, and Delany Packard ran a team time of 9:23.85.
Exum and Homes were joined by Devyn Moore and Angel Thomas in the 4×200 Relay which ran a time of 1:57.40.
There were two 4×400 relays for Adams. The first relay of Moore, Taylor Warbington, Kayla Douglas, and Alea’jah Turner ran a time of 4:44.47. Lynda White, Alexzandia Parker, Destiny Brown and Angel Thomas ran their heat in a time of 5:07.18.

Adams will compete again next weekend at the Indiana Wesleyan HSR Qualifier
