The rivalry between the Boys Soccer team and SB St Joseph dates back almost 40 years. For many of those years, the Eagles and Indians have battled it out for dominance in the area.
Tuesday night was another exciting chapter in that storied history when the Eagles traveled to take on St Joe on the road.
Both the Eagles and Indians ended regulation with no score on the scoreboard, but that did not undermine the smart and disciplined play of the Eagles. The Adams offense had several opportunities in both halves to score, but were unable to make the ball meet the back of the net. The Adams defense also held strong as well and Goalie Coen Coen had a big game, with 5 saves.
After regulation and overtime, both teams were still scoreless in a 0-0 tie. With the game on the line, the teams went to penalty kicks which brought the game to a thrilling end. Unfortunately for Adams, the Indians outshot the Eagles 4-3 and Adams lost the game.
Adams will be back in action to avenge the loss on Thursday when they host non conference opponent Concord at Tallman Beyrer Field.
