The rivalries between South Bend schools always brings out some of the best competition for a team in a season. This was true and on display on Thursday night when the Eagles Volleyball team hosted rival SB Riley.
From the very first serve to the final set point, the Lady Eagles were in control and on top. When the final point was scored, Adams swept the Wildcats in straight sets, winning 3-0.
Adams came out strong in the first set, cruising to a win with a score of 25-18. Adams held off the Lady Wildcats in the second set 25-19.
The Lady Eagles played with poise and control throughout the night, and it was particularly important in the third set when Riley began to mount a comeback. Adams never felt threatened and never panicked. Adams remained in control and opened up the lead, finally beating Riley with a set score of 25-17.
In the matchup, Megan Kroll had 34 assists. Sophia Salas ended the night with 34 digs while Claire Scheffler had 20 digs as well. Secilia Scheffler finished the match with 4 blocks.
The Junior Varsity Eagles also won against the Wildcats, winning in straight sets as well, 2-0. Adams won the first set 25-10 and the second set 25-7.
