Girls Varsity Swimming · Girl Swimming and Diving Wins Home Opener


The Girls Swimming and Diving team opened up the home slate of the schedule on Thursday night, hosting cross town foe SB Washington.

It was a good night for the Lady Eagles as they swam to a victory, winning 143-9.

Adams swept the meet, winning all 12 events.

The 200 Yard Medley Relays for Adams took 1-2-3 in the opening event. The winning relay of Cecilia Frazee, Ivie Skube, Melany Morales-Garibay, and Addison Skube finished with a time of 2:13.46.

In the 200 Free, Adams also swept the event. Ayva Rainwater was first in 2:54.78, Karolyne Henderson took second in 2:58.77, and Allison Kiney was third in 3:21.87.

Lyza Kricheff took first place in the 200 Medley, winning in 2:26.34. Elizabeth Linarello was second in 2:46.93.

In the 50 Free, A Skube and Adelyn Rabbitt finished neck and neck, with Skube taking first in 29.60 and Rabbitt in second in 29.61. Maeve Driscoll was 4th in 34.96.

Contested earlier in the week, Diving also swept going 1-2-3. Winning with a score of 251.33 was Lindsay Gizzi. Scoring 217.59 top take second was Katie Hensell and finishing third was Avery Curtis with 153.45.

After the break in the pool Sofia Frazee swam to first place in the 100 Fly, winning in a time of 1:09.36. Daniella Morales-Garibay finished second in 1:21.50 and C Frazee was third in 1:21.75.

Addison Skube won the 100 Free in 1:05.53, Rainwater was second in 1:11.19, and Henderson was third in 1:21.27.

In the 500 Free, Melany Morales-Garibay took the win, swimming to a time of 6:26.47. Rabbit was runner up in 6:35.59.

The Eagles took first in the 200 Free Relay, with the winning team of Kricheff, Linarello, Allison Kinney, and Yvette Burton finishing in 2:05.53.

Daniella Morales-Garibay took first in the 100 Backstroke in 1:14.44, and finishing as runner up in 1:18.68 was Skye Peck.

Adams once again went 1-2-3 in the 100 Breaststroke. Elisa Nerenberg was the winner in 1:19.12. Burton was second in 1:27.81, and Lily Chhuon was third in 1:31.82.

To wrap up the night, Adams won the 400 Free Relay with C Frazee, Rabbit, Rainwater, and Genevieve Ashton winning in 4:58.52.

Adams continues to roll as they start the season at 2-0 overall and in the the Northern Indiana Conference as well.

Adams will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to take on SB Riley.
