The Boys Swim and Dive team swam against New Prairie on Thursday in a Northern Indiana Conference meet. The Eagles swam well but fell to the Cougars with a score of 41-135.
While the Eagles took no first place positions, they had many impressive individual performances for the young team. To open up the night, Zach Richardson, Marko Lazarevic, Felipe Jauregui, and Fernando Sanchez finished in fourth place in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 2:26.10.
Miguel Sanchez-Castaneda was the runner up in the 200 Free swimming a time of 2:05.47 in the competitive heat. Isaac Shrader was fifth in 2:16.31.
Also finishing as a runner up was Andre Bowman in the 200 Individual Medley, edging out the third place finisher by just a tenth of a second in 2:30.71.
Jauregui, Sanchez, and Lazarevic finished fourth, fifth, and sixth in the 50 Free with times of 31.20, 32.19, and 36.91 respectively.
In Diving, Eric Derr was the second palace finisher with a score of 127.80.
Donovan Go took third place in the 100 Fly in 1:06.31. Sanchez, swimming 1:22.86, was fifth.
In the 100 Free, Shrader was fourth in 1:00.92, Richardson finished fifth in 1:03.75, and Jauregui was sixth in 1:11.54.
Sanchez Castaneda was the lone swimmer for Adams in the 500 Free, finishing in fourth place with a time of 5:47.85
Two relays placed in the 200 Free Relay. Lazarevic, Richardson, Go, and Bowman took fourth in 1:54.82 and Jauregui, Shrader, Sanchez-Castaneda, and Sanchez took fifth in 2:00.71.
Go finished in third in the 100 Backstroke in 1:11.66 and in fourth with a time of 1:16.01 was Richardson.
In the 100 Backstroke Bowman was fourth in 1:20.33 and Lazarevic was fifth in 1:35.67.
To wrap up the night, the team of Bowman, Sanchez-Castaneda, Go, and Shrader finished in second in the 400 Free Relay.
The Eagles will be back in action next Tuesday at home against Penn HS.
