Boys Varsity Wrestling, Coed Varsity Wrestling · Wrestling Finishes 8th at Goshen Invitational

The Adams Wrestling team competed in the Goshen Invitational on Saturday. The Eagles finished as a team in 8th palace with a score of 48.

The six freshman wrestlers for Adams fared well against some tough competition from several competitive teams from around the area.

Wrestling at 113 pounds for the Eagles was David Pine. Pine finished the day with a record of 1-3 and finished 6th in his weight class. Pine opened the day with a loss in the first round with a fall early in the 1st period. Pine advanced through the consolation round with a win by forfeit and lost in the semifinals and fifth palace match both by fall.

Jonah Arzadon was the highest palace finisher for Adams for the day. Arzadon finished in 4th place wrestling at 126 pounds. In the opening round Arzadon lost by Major Decision with a score of 3-15. Arzadon earned two wins in the consolation bracket, pinning his opponents in the first periods of both rounds. In the 3rd place match Arzadon was pinned early in the second period to earn the 4th place finish.

At 138 pounds, Bol Agwick wrestled his way to a 5th place finish. Agwick lost in the opening round after a hard fought match, getting pinned in the third period. In the consolation round, Agwick lost by Major Decision in the semifinals with a score of 0-8. In the 5th place match Agwick earned the victory in the tie breaking round with a score of 9-8.

Will Kennedy also finished in 5th place wrestling at 145 pounds. Kennedy lost in the opening match losing by fall in the second period. Kennedy pinned his opponent in the Consolation round, winning by fall in the second period. After a loss in the semi finals, Kennedy came back to get the win in the 5th palace match, winning by Decision with a score of 7-4.

Eduardo Gomez finished with a record of 1-2 finishing in 7th palace at 152 pounds. Gomez had two losses in the opening match and consolation round and won by forfeit in the 7th palace match.

At 285 pounds, Landon Roberts finished with a record of 0-3. Despite the record, Roberts had close matches in the consolation round with a narol loss by Decision in broth rounds.

Adams will be back in action next Saturday when they compete in the Northern Indiana Conference Championships.
