It had been nearly a month since the Girls Basketball team had last played, but that did not stop the Lady Eagles from routing the visiting Jimtown Jimmies on Monday night in Northern Indiana Conference play. Adams routed Jimtown with a final score of 69-30. The win is the second in a row for Adams.
It did not take the Eagles long to get out in front of the Jimmies. Adams opened up with a face paced first quarter, outsourcing Jimtown 18-3. The pace kept up throughout the rest of the half and Adams widened the margin 37-9 at half. Adams cruises to victory holding the lead and control of the game throughout the rest of the half.
The leading scorer in the game was Marissa Shelton. Shelton, behind hitting four 3 pointers and going 5 for 6 from the free throw line, scored 23 points. Laila Williams scored 13 points for Adams, Jayne Kelly and Lazia Walker both scored 9 points each, Makiah McCain made 8 points, Samaya Sigur scored 5 points, and Valiyah Grundy and Mikayla Crumbly both scored 2 points.
Adams will be back in action on Thursday night when they host SB Washington in NIC action.
