Boys Varsity Swimming · Boys Swim and Dive Loses to Penn


The Boys Swim and Dive team hosted Penn HS on Tuesday night in a Northern Indiana Conference dual meet. The Eagles fell to the Kingsmen with a final score of 35-146.

Despite not having any first palace finishes, Adams did compete well against the Kingsmen in many of the events throughout the evening.

Opening up competition, Adams took third in the 200 Medley relay. The team of Andre Bowman, Isaac Shrader, Donovan Go, and Zachary Richardson swam a time of 2:01.16.

Miguel Sanchez Castaneda swam a competitive 200 Free, taking second place by a thin margin with a time of 2:05.21. Bowman was fifth in 2:14.83.

Shrader finished in fourth place in the 200 Individual Medley swimming 2:34.43 while Go was fifth in a time of 2:38.77.

In the 50 Free, Richardson finished in fourth place with a time of 28.81. Felipi Jeragui was fifth in 30.10 and Fernando Sanchez was sixth in 33.14.

In Diving, finishing with a score of 143.35 was Eric Derr.

Richardson took fourth in the 100 Fly in 1:13.06 and swimming a time of 1:23.38 was Sanchez good for fifth place.

In the 100 Free, Go finished in third in 57.13. Jeragui was fifth in 1:14.09 and sixth was Marko Lazarevic in 1:23.53.

Sanchez Castaneda finished in fourth place in the 500 Free, finishing in a time of 5:48.19.

The Eagles team of Bowman, Shrader, Go, and Richardson finished in third in the 200 Free Relay in 1:48.21. Sanchez, Lararevic, Jeragui, and Sanchez Castaneda took fourth with a team time of 2:04.61.

Bowman was third in the 100 Backstroke finishing with a time of 1:06.56. 

In the 100 Breaststroke was Shrader in fourth place in 1:21.40 and Lazarevic in fifth in 1:39.21.

To end the night, the relay of Sanchez Castaneda, Jeragui, Sanchez, and Lazarevic finished third in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 5:08.17.

Adams will swim again on Thursday when they host Elkhart in NIC action.
