It was a battle of two of the top ranked teams of class 4A for the Boys Basketball team on Saturday afternoon. The #5 Eagles and #10 Warren Central battled it out in Indianapolis. Adams looked to stay perfect for the season after moving to 15-0 the night before against Glenn HS. In a close game, Adams suffered its first loss of the season, falling 59-66.
The Warriors held the lead through the first half, but the Eagles were not about to give up. Eagles worked their way back into the game in the fourth quarter and managed to slow the offense for Warren Central down. With just about a minute left in the game, Adams closed the gap to just a few points, but it was not enough to secure the win.
Behind an effort of four 3 point shots made and going 6 for 7 on free throws, Lynn King led the Eagles in scoring, ending the afternoon with 22 points on the board.
Quentez Columbus scored 13 for the Eagles and Brayden Saxton was not far behind with 12 points.
Sidney Jeffereis scored 6 points, Chuck Worsham had 5 points, and Jessie Morgan scored 1 point.
The Junior Varsity Eagles lost as well with a score of 50-64. Brittain Vann scored 28 points for Adams and Jeremiah Love scored 10 points.
Adams is now 15-1 for the season and will be back in action on Thursday night when the eagles host Jimtown in Northern Indiana Conference play.
