Boys Varsity Swimming · Boys Swimming Finishes 8th at NIC Championships


The Boys Swimming team competed on Saturday in the Northern Indiana Conference Championships. The Eagles finished the meet in 8th place with a score of 54 team points.

The 200 Medley relay opened up action for the Eagles in the meet. The Adams team of Andre Bowman, Isaac Shrader, Donovan Go and Zach Richardson finished in 12th palace with a time of 2:01.71.

In the 200 Freestyle, Miguel Sanchez Castaneda swam a time of 2:05.41 which was good for 13th place. 

Go finished in 15th in the 200 Individual Medley in 2:23.38 while Shrader was 20th in 2:38.11. 

Richardson took 21st place in the 50 Free in 27.72. Felipe Jauregui tied for 24th with a time of 29.78 and Marko Lazarevic was 28th in 34.05.

In the 100 Fly, Go swam a time of 1:08.33 which was good for a 16th place finish.

Bowman finished in 15th in the 100 Free in 56.51. Richardson finished in 1:01.76 in 21st place and Jauregui was 25th in 1:06.27.

Sanchez Castaneda had the best finish for the eagles in the day in the 500 Free, finishing in 9th place with a time of 5:40.46.

The 200 Free Relay took 13th place. The team of Jauregui, Lazarevic, Richardson, and Sanchez Castaneda swam 2:01.03.

In the 100 Backstroke Bowman finished in 13th with a time of 1:06.60.

Shrader was 22nd in the 100 Breaststroke in 1:21.40 and Lazarevic was 24th in 1:37.76. 

In the 400 Free relay, Sanchez Castaneda, Go, Bowman, and Shrader finished in 10th place in 4:00.18.

Adams will have some time off before they compete again at the IHSAA Sectional on February 18th.
