The Girls Basketball team played in the IHSAA Sectional Championship game for the first time since 2017 on Saturday night, taking on the LaPorte Slicers at Mishawaka High School.
After winning in the semifinals over Mishawaka on Friday night, the Lady Eagles looked to take that energy into the finals just 24 hours later. That energy carried over as the eagles opened up with intensity at the start of the game. Adams got out to a fast start, leading the Slicers 12-10 after one quarter of action. It was a close game between the two teams who battled it out for every possession, every shot, and every rebound. LaPorte began to build a slight lead over Adams as the game reached its final minutes, but Adams never gave up until the final horn sounded. Adams would fall to LaPorte with a final score of 33-46 to finish the season.
Adams was led in scoring by Marissa Shelton. Shelton ended the night with 14 points.
Jayne Kelly scored 8 points for Adams, Laila Williams scored 6 points, Whitney Marshall scored 3 points, and Lazia Walker scored 2 points.
The Lady Eagles end the season as the IHSAA Sectional Runner Ups and an overall record of 7-15.
Congratulations on a great season Lady Eagles!
