Boys Varsity Track · Boys Track and Field Finishes 2nd in First Meet of Season

The Boys Track & Field team took to the track for the first time in the 2021 season, running at New Prairie in a triangular meet with host Cougars and the Michigan City Wolves. On the cold and windy spring night, with snowflakes making a few brief appearances, the Eagles finished in second place in the meet with a team score of 58 points.

Adams took home 6 first place finishes in the meet. William Neuabuer was a part of 4 of those blue ribbon finishes, including individual wins in the 800, 1600, and 3200 and a part of the winning 4×800 Relay.

The 4×800 relay got things going on the track with the win coming from Neubauer, Alex Macharaschwili, Bol Agwick, and Dylan Hockx. The team finished in a time of 9:09.8. Neuabuer would come back to earn victories in the 1600 in 4:56.4, in the 800 in 2:05.9, and in the 3200 in 10:37.7.

Agwick was also a part of two first place finishes as well. Agwick won the open 400 in a time of 58.8 and then ran a leg on the winning 4×400 Relay, where he was joined by Tommie Hunt, Macaraschwili, and Will Favorite in a finishing time of 3:50.5.

There were many other quality performances from Adams as well despite the adverse weather. Hunt would go to finish 3rd in the 100 Dash in 11.7. Hockx was the runner up in the 1600, running 5:02.4. Macaraschwili was also a runner up, this time in the 800 in 2:13.93. Hunt had another 3rd place finish in the 200 in 24.2. Hockx ran to a 3rd place finish in the 32300 in 10:59.4.

In the field, Alex Harman earned a runner up spot in the Discus with a throw of 128’5”. Cesar Cevera was 3rd with a throw of 120’5”. In the Shot Put, Cervera was 2nd with a toss of 37’9.5” while Harman was 3rd with 35’5.5”. Hunt earned a 2nd place spot in the High Jump with a leap of 5’8” and Favorite was 3rd, clearing a height of 5’3”. In the Pole Vault, Eric Derr took 3rd after clearing 8’.

Adams will have some time off before their next meet on April 15 at Elkhart.
