Girls Varsity Track · Girls Track and Field Loses to Elkhart


The Girls Track & Field team competed in their first Northern Indiana Conference dual meet of the season on Tuesday, traveling to take on the Elkhart Lions. It was a close meet between the two teams, but the Lady Eagles fell just short of the win, falling to Elkhart with a final team score of 62.5-66.5.

Adams did have 11 first place finishes in the meet. 

The 4×800 Relay got things going for Adams, winning in a time of 10:36.95. The relay was made up of Ivie Skube, Isabella Soens, Lexi Lawill, and Anna Borkowski.

Addison Skube took first place in the 100 Hurdles, winning in 18.46.

In the 100 Dash, Angel Thomas ran away to take the win in 12.70.

Borwkoski took two individual first place positions. She won the 1600 in a time of 6:01.60 and again was the winner in the 800 in 2:38.60.

Thomas was joined by Shanell Exum, Sofia Frazee, and Adele Zyniewicz to take first in the 4×100 Relay, winning in a time of 51.25.

In the 400 Dash, Soens won, running a time of 1:05.38.

Exum was an individual winner in the 300 Hurdles, taking the win in 51.70.

In the last event on the track, the 4×400 relay of Zyniewicz, Frazee, Soens, and Borkowski won in 4:30.95.

Katie Hensell was the winner in Pole Vault, leaping to a height of 8’3”.

In Shot Put, Alecia Parker won after a toss of 38’0”.

Besides the first place finishers, the Eagles also had many other impressive performances for individuals in the meet. In the 100 Hurdles, Kayla Douglas was the runner up in 18.97, and Allie Parker was 7th in 20.62. In the 100 Dash – Exum 13.47, Makenley Macon 13.68, Maurnese Wade 15.89, Destiny Brown 14.76, Kendyl Kush 14.91. In the 1600, Lawill 6:12, Olivia Purcell 6:40, Carla Hernandez 6:51, Mariana Anderson 6:56, Izzy Camilleri 7:21. In the 40 0Dash – Kiara Sisti 1:08.33, Joann Tom 1:14.04. In the 300 Hurdles Adams swept with S Frazee in second in 53.27, A Skube in 3rd in 54.53, and Kayla Douglas in 4th in 55.68. In the 800 Run – Anderson 3:11, Purcell 3:25.89, Betsy Leija 2:59.47, and Camilleri 3:21.46. In the 200 – Zyniewicz 27.49, Macon 28.59, Kush 31.04, Sisti 30.02, Brown 31.74, Betzaida Adorno 32.75, Daisy Maciel 33.77, Wade 34.43, Leslie Segundo 38.06. In the 3200 Lawill 13:31, Delaney Packard 14:19, Hernandez 15:40 and Rajiya Weaver 16:18. 

Out in the field – Pole Vault – Avery Curtis 7’6”. In Long Jump – S Frazee 14’6”, Macon 14’3”, Thomas 13’7”, Tom 12’11”, Sisti 12’10”, Zyniewicz 12’6”, and Cecilia Frazee 11’1”. In Discus – A Parker 99’7”, Leia McCann 76’8”, Ann Okhira 75’5”, Hernandez 72’6”, Sydney Conway 50’9”, C Frazee 50’8”, and Wade 48’3”. In Shot Put – Okhira 28’0”, McCann 24’4”, C Frazee 22’7”, Conway 20’7”, and Wade 16’4”. Finally in High Jump – Douglas 4’6”, Thomas 4’6”, and A Parker 4’2”

The Lady Eagles will run again on Saturday when they travel to the Marion Relays
