Saturday turned into a perfect day for the Girls Tennis team as the Lady Eagles played in the Jimtown Invitational.
The Adams netters were near perfect on the court, sweeping the entire day with all five positions winning in all three matches. Adams had victories over Wawasee, Wabash, and Jimtown to go 3-0 for the day.
Adams opened up with the 5-0 win over Wawasee. At singles, Quinn Stanchin was victorious in two sets 6-4, 6-2., Anna Moss won 6-0, 6-1, and Lizzy Bruening won 6-1, 6-3. In double action the pair of Lia Gosselin and Kyara Soria won 6-0 and then a close set of 7-5. Julia Lutz and Audrey Engel won 6-0, 6-3.
In the next match of the day, Adams won again 5-0 over host Jimtown. Stanchin won in 2 sets 6-1, 6-1. Moss earned the win in 2 sets 6-0, 6-3. Bruening had a tough battle but came out the victor in three sets winning 6-1, 1-6, 1-0. Gosselin and Soria won in 2 sets 6-1, 6-2. Lutz and Engel won in 2 sets as well 6-0, 6-1.
In the final match of the day, the Lady Eagles secured the championship with the 5-0 win over Wabash. All three single players won in 2 sets, with Stanchin winning 6-0, 6-0, Moss 6-0, 6-0, and Bruening 6-2, 6-0. The pairs at double all won in 2 sets as well. Gosselin and Soria won 6-2, 6-4 and Lutz and Engel won 6-1, 6-0.
Adams now moves to a record of 3-1 for the season. The Eagles will be back in action on Monday afternoon when they host Elkhart HS.
