Girls Varsity Track · Girls Track and Field Finishes 3rd at Marion Relays


The Girls Track & Field team competed in the Marion Relays on Saturday, running against some top competition from throughout the state. The Lady Eagles fared well, finishing in 3rd place overall as a team with a score of 95 points.

In the meet, Adams won two individual events and won one relay. 

Angel Thomas was the champion in the 100 Dash, sprinting out to first in a time of 13.09. Also in the 100 and finishing in 9th place was Adele Zyniewicz.

In the field, Alecia Parker took first place in Shot Put. Parker won with a toss of 41’1”

The lone relay that the Lady Eagles won was the Sprint Medley Relay (100-100-200-400). The Adams team of Thomas, Shanell Exum, Zyniewicz, and Sofia Frazee won in a time of 1:55.07.

The same relay members ran a tough 4×100 relay as well, and in a photo finish, Zyneiwicz was bested right at the line, which was good for second. Thomas, Exum, Frazee and Zyniewics ran a time of 52.67.

In the first event of the day, Ivie Skube, Kiara Sisti, Isabella Soens, and Anna Borkowski took third in the Distance Medley Relay (1200-400-800-1600). The team ran a time of 14:11.12.

Borkowski came back to finish 4th in the 1600 run, placing with a time of 5:50.04. She was joined in the race by Lexi Lawwill who ran 6:04.80 to finish in sixth.

In the 100 Hurdles Finals, Addison Skube took fourth place with a time of 18.96. Kayla Douglas finished with a time of 19.64 which earned her eighth place.

I Skube, Soens, Lawwill, and Borkowski ran together in the 4×800 Relay. THe team went 11:07 to finish in 3rd place. 

In the 3200 Run, Delaney Packard took 8th place in 14:06.64 while Olivia Purcell was 10th in 14:35.

In the field, Douglas opened up with a jump of 4’6” in High Jump to finish in 5th place.

Katie Hensell leapt to a height of 8’0” in the Pole Vault. Her leap was good for 3rd place. She was joined by Avery Curtis who finished 7th with a jump of 6’6”

In Long Jump, Frazee took third place with a jump of 15’1” who Brianna Craig finished in 8th with 13’7.5”

Leia McCann had a throw of 83’9” in the Discus which earned her a 6th place finish.

In the final event of the day, the 4×400 Relay, Soens, Sisti, Zyniewicz, and Frazee finished as the runner up in a time of 4:22.55.
