After being rained out earlier in the week, the Baseball team took to the field on Friday night to play SB St Joseph. It was a perfect evening for Baseball as the Eagles and Indians battled it out at School Field.
The two teams were tied up in a close game, but a few costly runs in the 7th inning hurt the Eagles, as they fell 4-8 to St Joe.
Adams took the early lead in the game In the bottom of the first, the Eagles loaded up the bases. A fly out from Cody Barnes allowed Bryce Martens to score after tagging up. Adams got on the scoreboard again in the bottom of the second. Diego Cardenas advanced around the bases and then was able to score on a single from Josh Allen. After St Joe took the lead in the fourth inning, Adams tied it up again. A ground ball from Barnes brought in Vian Mariani to score. Once again the Eagles loaded up the bases and after Drew Stultz was hit by a pitch, it was all tied up 4-4. Unfortunately in the seventh, St Joe was able to get out in front again, and the Eagles were unable to make up the deficit despite a few chances near the end.
For the Eagles in the game, Martens had 1 run and 1 hit, Mariani 1 run, Tre Fonseca 1 run and 1 hit, Barnes 2 hits and 2 RBI, Cardenas 1 run and 3 hits, Stultz 1 RBI, and Josh Thompson 1 hit and 1 RBI.
