Competition, the key word during the IHSAA tournament, was essential for the John Adams Boys Cross Country team at the Regional Meet at Oxbow Park on Saturday. They boys team was able to step it up during the week in order to compete with some of the best teams in the northern part of the state.
As a team, the boys finished in 10th place with a total of 260 points.
The top Eagle finisher was Sophomore Sami Mirza in a time of 17:58 which was good for 54th place overall. He was followed by his older brother Momin who finished in 59th place. The remaining Eagle runner were Julio Martinez (64th), Kieran O’Brien (66th), Teo Reimbold Thomas (71st), William Neubaur (79th), and Logan Reimbold Thomas (80th).
In the regional the top 5 teams and next 10 individuals from non advancing teams advance to the Semi State at New Haven. Unfortunately for the Eagles the season comes to an end as none of the boys were in the next advancing top 10.
While the season might have ended there were many positives for all the individuals who improved throughout the season and set their own personal best times. Great work this year Eagles!
